Absolutely incredible combination plate that comes with an elite hot and sour soup. The waiter is a legend as well.

4/16/2024 Found this on my weekend trip to Sacramento. Cute little cafe in a quiet part of midtown Sacramento. Parking close to front door. Waiter gave me a laminated menu to order dim sum dishes. Ordered stewed chicken feet and so falloff the bones soft.. Savory turnip cake which was freshly made with dried shrimps. A large plate of Gai lan dosed in oyster sauce, waiter cut them into smaller bite sizes with scissors. The Chinese tamales were big + fresh Everything was yummy Love the location and the cute ambience It would make a great spot to meetup with friends

I was in downtown Sacramento and craved Chinese food so I searched yelp and found Tea Cup cafe. This is a standard Chinese restaurant with a fish aquarium inside. When I arrived late Sunday afternoon, the place was not busy so my take out order was done in 15 minutes. Food was delicious. I can't wait to try the other items on their menu.

Dim sum on par with San Francisco! We went on a lark after the CIM in December. (We used to like New Canton.) This place is smaller but really good quality. We will be back.

Literally the BEST Chinese food downtown! Portions are huge, prices are cheap, food is GOOD! They have dim sum and the typical food, but they're not greasy or as heavy. Everything is always fresh and delicious!

I really like Tea Cup Cafe. For the price of going to Panda Express, you get decent quality Chinese food. Set your expectations correctly -- this is the Hot and Sour soup, Chow Mein, Kung Pao sort of Chinese experience. You're not going to Fat's, or Mission Chinese in SF -- and the price reflects it. It's cheap! Portions are good, employees are friendly, and they are super fast if you call them for an order. Their hot and sour soup and won ton soup are go to's for my family when we feel sick, and the "family meals" are a great deal if you're not feeling like thinking a lot about what you want but want something tasty.

This is a classic Chinese spot that's been around for ages. We got here at 6 and it was empty but around 7 it was getting crowded. Their menu is huge as you can see. It's really cheap also, even for nowadays. They have like 4 group combo platters which are pretty good too, or I presume, cuz we didn't get that. Me and my friend got combo meals for about fifteen bucks each. They gave pretty small portions of the actual dishes with huge amounts of sides of fried rice and chow mein. The sides tasted alright, just pretty fatty. Kinda bland to be honest. I got orange chicken which was OK, and honey walnut shrimp which somehow tasted like pancakes, that was delicious. It came with hot and sour soup of the day which was...not great. Service could be slightly better, the waiter didn't pay much attention unless we flagged him over, and even then. But it could be cultural or something I guess. Not a real complaint. It's so nice and cheap here though and I could never try everything on the menu though I wish I could. The decor is your standard Chinese restaurant. Parking is great for midtown (downtown?) with a private lot. I think most of their service is takeout.

Wednesday was my first time ordering from Tea Cup under the new management. I was skeptical at first, following my Yelp search ... it's a mixed bag, when it comes to Chinese food ratings! However, I took a chance, and I am glad that I did... I ordered the Mongolian Beef and the Mixed Veggies in Garlic Sauce. Portions were LARGE, fresh and hot. The quality of the beef was good, and I loved all the onions. Please note, this dish was not spicy in my book, but something you may want to consider if you ARE sensitive to heat (there were dried chili peppers in the dish). The mixed veggies were very fresh and not overcooked (still firm and colors were bright). The overall taste was also light, and there was a lot of fresh minced garlic. I made two big meals out of these two!!!! Can't wait for the rainy season, so I can try their Wor Wonton and Hot and Sour Soup ... I will report back, once I do :) I will defiantly be back, and it is great knowing I have a good spot located close to my house!! Side note: there is a small parking lot onsite (free) with metered street parking. Allow for extra time on the weekends... Also note, that my order was via takeout - I cannot speak to a dine-in experience as-of-yet!

Reservations were made for two large tables on a Sunday at 11:45am and it wasn't too busy, but it started to fill up table by table. The owners at Tea Cafe changed a few months ago and renovations had been made to the restaurant so everything looked pretty new and clean. When it comes to decent service and delicious food, Hong Kong Islander was up there and now, Tea Cup Cafe will be my new favorite. Other than the tripe, which was quite bland, everything else was on point. Cooked fresh, the food was hot, and flavorful. My favorite was the juicy Siu Mais. The service was decent, but disorganized since there was only one man delivering the food, while also fulfilling our requests for refills on our hot tea, getting more sauce and etc. The guy was trying his best. Two different orders were submitted for each of our table and all the items came out for one table instead of both even though there were repeated items. Things were inefficient and they lost track of what items we had received, but I'm sure this will improve as they hire more people and get acclimated to more business. The only bad thing that stood out was the mandatory gratuity of 20% for our large party. Never had I seen a small Chinese restaurant charge that high of a percentage.
